The story of Maheep Kapoor-Sanjay’s one-night stand and their ‘drunken’ pranks
Maheep Kapoor reminisced about his ‘wild’ youthful days in a recent interview. She talked about meeting her husband Sanjay Kapoor for a one-night stand in the 90s and encountering his family for the first time.
OTT star Maheep Kapoor recalls her first meeting with actor and husband Sanjay Kapoor and his family members. The popular Bollywood socialite revealed that she first met Sanjay for a ‘one-night stand’ and never thought of marrying him in the future. In a recent interview, he talked about his ‘wild’ youthful days and how the Kapoor family ‘accepted’ him despite all this.
Maheep, who has gained new popularity after her appearance in the Netflix show Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, talked about her life on Raunak Rajani’s YouTube show. The 42-year-old said she has been married to Sanjay for 30 years and their love story was not as glamorous as it is these days due to the influence of social media.
She previously said, “Our (love story) was quite simple. I just had a one-night stand with this guy and I never knew I was going to marry him. I walked into his party, right there with my Met him, dead.” drunk.”
Maheep revealed that she was completely drunk when she met Sanjay’s brothers, actor Anil Kapoor, and her sister-in-law, late actor Sridevi, at a party. “I met the whole family, mother-in-law, father-in-law… You guys know my family, right? Anil (Kapoor), Sunita, Sri (Devi). And I was drunk, but still they accepted He recalled me saying, ‘Wow, what a wonderful future daughter-in-law, she welcomed me with open arms.’
When she was asked how Sanjay proposed her for marriage, she denied it. Maheep said that it was just a natural decision and they both agreed to get married without any formal proposal. “We didn’t have all this proposal and everything. I’m a lot older than you. We didn’t have Instagram. So, we didn’t give a f***. He just told me, ‘Look, we can get married. Are’,” she shared.
He added, “We were at a nightclub in the 1900s, the Colaba Taj. We were drunk. We were partying. He said, ‘Okay, we’re getting married.’ So I I said, ‘Okay, that’s it. We did not propose on our knees for the sake of speech.’
Maheep and Sanjay married in 1997. They have two children – daughter Shanaya Kapoor and son Jahaan Kapoor.
