The script of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was served hot like pakodas on the sets: Raghav Juyal
Actor Raghav Juyal spoke exclusively to India Today.in and talked about shooting for the critically acclaimed Kill and Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan simultaneously. While one film took nine months to prepare, the other felt like an amusement park.
Actor Raghav Juyal, who is currently enjoying the success of the action-thriller Kill, had earlier appeared in Salman Khan’s 2023 action-comedy, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. While filming these two different films simultaneously, Raghav had different experiences. It took him nine months to prepare for one project, while working on the other was like being in an amusement park.
For those familiar with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, it will be clear which film Raghav has compared to “Amusement Park”. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Raghav shared his experience of working on Farhad Samji’s action-comedy. He also revealed how his life changed after his role in the critically acclaimed Kill.
Raghav told that he had to complete shooting some parts of ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ when he started shooting for ‘Kill’. He told, “Both their worlds were very different. Even the way of shooting was different.”
“One was a Salman Khan film and the other was based on a story, for which I prepared for nine months. In one, I had to just be on the set, have fun, do whatever Salman sir said and come back home. That film was like an amusement park for me. I made all the arrangements on the spot Anything was happening… you are getting hot scripts like pakodas Raghava recalled, “Whatever was happening was happening on the spot…you were getting the script like hot, fresh pakoras). Everything was being improvised on the set.”
The actor agreed that his experience as a stage anchor helped him on the sets of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan as it required him to be spontaneous. Raghav also had a lot of fun on the sets as the entire cast used to party with Salman Khan at his Mumbai residence Galaxy Apartments and his farmhouse.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which also starred Pooja Hegde, Jassi Gill, Shehnaaz Gill and Venkatesh, was a huge box office failure. The film was panned by critics and audiences. Raghav’s mother too couldn’t share her honest opinion about the film.
“My mother is a bit critical. She criticises my acting. After watching Nawabzaade and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, she told me, ‘Maza nahi aaya’,” Raghav told IndiaToday.in.
But like many other cinephiles, she too loved Raghav’s performance in Kill. “After watching Kill, she said, ‘It’s not you, Raghav.’ She was happy with that performance,” he said.
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival ahead of a theatrical release on July 5, 2024. Produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, the film has received praise for its action sequences and the performances of its lead actors Raghav and Lakshya.

Reflecting on the response his performance in Kill has received, Raghav feels that his hard work is finally paying off. The film has opened up new opportunities for him and he is now getting recognition from directors and producers who are “finally” recognising his talent.
Raghav said, “The kind of opportunities Kill has opened up for me is overwhelming. From Anurag Kashyap to Fahadh Faasil, everyone is approaching me. Anurag sir said, ‘You don’t realise what a great actor you are and what you have achieved has never been done before.’ While working on the film, I was not fully aware of the impact of my work. But seeing the genuine reactions of people and the change in the way producers and directors view me, I now find myself among critically acclaimed actors.”
Despite getting all this attention, Raghav Juyal is not letting success go to his head. He took up acting for “art satisfaction” and not “for fame.”
Raghav said, “If I wanted fame, I would never leave television. The kind of reach TV has, I don’t think anything else has that kind of reach. Anyone would go crazy leaving TV.” He happily added, “Prashad to main jab ho gaya tha jab Orkut tha.”
Raghav Juyal is currently waiting for his ZEE5 web series Gyarah Gyarah. It will stream from 9th August.
