Barry Keoghan is all set to star alongside Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. Speaking to Collider while supporting the premiere of his film Bring Him Down at the Toronto Film Festival, the Saltburn actor shared some exciting updates about his role and the film’s shooting schedule.
Although he doesn’t remember the exact date, filming will begin in September, around the 28th or 29th. Keoghan joked that he wouldn’t have been attached to the film if he hadn’t read the script. “But yeah, I’m excited. The script is fantastic,” he enthused.
He also acknowledged the star-studded cast and expressed his delight to “be with Cillian and Rebecca”. The Oscar-winning actor will reprise his role as Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby from the 2013 Peaky Blinders series. As for the Dune actress and Keoghan, details of their characters have been kept under wraps.

Ever since the series ended on an ambiguous note, fans have been clamouring for a film adaptation or spin-off. The Dunkirk actor surprised fans by announcing the film in a statement to Deadline. He said, “It feels like Tommy Shelby is never done working with me.” “It’s very satisfying to collaborate with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is for the fans,” Murphy said.
The show’s creator Steven Knight said the film would be an “explosive” chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. He added: “No holds barred. The Peaky Blinders are at war, absolutely.”
