In the new trailer released today, the book’s plot is introduced as Matt Damon’s Odysseus is shown talking to Charlize Theron’s nymph Calypso and talks about why he wants to return home to his family. He introduces Telemachus to his wife, Anne Hathaway’s Penelope, son, Tom Holland, and talks about the war he won before beginning his journey to the Kingdom of Ithaca, which is now filled with people willing to rule over it in the king’s absence.

The group is led by Antinous (Robert Pattinson), who is urging and pressuring the Queen to marry him and become king himself. He tries to persuade him by claiming that Odysseus will never be able to return, and to satisfy his vested interest, orders his men to get rid of the former ruler’s entire army, victorious in the Trojan War. A churning story is presented when he gets into a verbal dispute with Telemachus, who hopes for his father’s return.

The new trailer offers the first glimpse of the infamous Cyclops, who brings various troubles one by one on Odysseus’s difficult journey home. Check out the trailer below.
