In the throng of the protesters marching through the roads of Washington on Saturday, there was a figure that immediately stood out – not for a raousing speech or stimulating signal, but for a bright yellow dress with red cheeks and pointed ears.
A protector, prepared as Pokémon character Pikachu, joined the national rebellion against US President Donald Trump and his top advisor Elon Musk. This was seen in Türkiye of a similar costume protector, where he was seen away from the riot police amid chaos on the arrest of opposition leader Ekrem Imamoglu.
Videos of costumes are going viral on social media, in which users are on platforms that share yellow Pokémon weaving through crowds.

The biggest day of demonstrations on Saturday was marked when the Trump returned to the office, more than 1,200 coordinated “hand closed!” All 50 states sweep rallies. From Encourage to Miami, from the shade of space needle to the Persing Square in Seattle in Los Angeles, the protesters flooded the streets, which they see as a administration that was determined to destroy the US government because they know it.
The signals reading “hands with our democracy” and “hands of our social security” were raised high throughout the cities.
Thousands of people came out in Midtown Manhattan. In Portland, chant rings through the city. And in Washington, DC, the speakers gave rallies to the crowd in the National Mall – including activists Gralan Hagler, who announced, “he has woken up a sleeping giant, and he has not seen anything yet,” according to the AFP.
The protesters called the widespread retrenchment of federal workers, the closing of social security offices, the intestines of health programs, the exile of the immigrants and the rolling back of security for the LGBTQ+ Americans.
Anger was directed not only on Trump, but also in Elon Musk, who is now an important person for a deep decline for an important person in the government’s new formed department and administration’s push. Musk, who also heads Tesla, SpaceX and X, claims that the deduction is saving billions of taxpayers. Critics say they are taking America down from their bones.
At the Washington rally, Kelly Robinson, president of the human rights campaign, said, “The attacks we are not just political. They are individual, Y’Al,” according to the Associated Press. “They are trying to ban our books, they are reducing HIV prevention funding, they are criminalizing our doctors, our teachers, our families and our lives.”
She ended, “We don’t want this America, Y’All. We want America we are worthy, where dignity, security and freedom are not for some of us, but for all of us.”
When asked about the protests, the White House replied in a statement, “President Trump’s position is clear: he will always protect social security, medicare and medicade for qualified beneficiaries, according to AP.
“Meanwhile, Democrat’s stance is giving benefits to social security, medicade and medicare, which benefits illegal aliens, which will insolvent these programs and crush American seniors.”
In Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu addressed the crowd, vowen his children not to raise in a country where intimidation takes place of leadership and diversity is put as a danger.
