The iPhone 17 series launching later this year: 10 hopes for major changes
The iPhone 17 series can mark one of the most important upgrades since the iPhone X. Here is a look at the 10 biggest changes that we expect to see when the new iPhones come later this year.
Listen to the story

It has been more than six months since the iPhone 16 series was launched, but the discussion around the next generation iPhone 17 lineup is already increasing. Apple is allegedly working on some of the biggest changes in the iPhone over the years, expecting the major design updates, camera reforms and performance upgrade. The iPhone 17 series includes four models: standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and All-new iPhone 17 Air. While Apple has not confirmed anything yet, Leaks suggests that these devices will include everything from slimmer design to publicity, better connectivity and a new modem chip developed in in-house.
If these rumors are true, the iPhone 17 series can mark one of the most important upgrade since the iPhone X. Keeping this in mind, here is a look at the 10 biggest changes that we expect to see that the new iPhones come later this year.
iPhone 17 Air – The thinnest iPhone ever
One of the largest highlights of the iPhone 17 series can be the iPhone 17 Air, which is still expected to be the thinnest iPhone of Apple. It is rumored to be only 5.5 mm to 6.25 mm thick, making it diluted compared to any previous iPhone – even slimmer compared to the iPhone 6, which was 6.9 mm. The 6.6 -inch display is also expected in the iPhone 17 Air, which keeps it between the Pro and the Pro Max model.
Promotion for all iPhones
For the first time, each iPhone 17 model is expected to receive a 120Hz promotion display, which was limited to Pro model earlier. This means improvement in smooth scrolling, better animation, and overall accountability. These displays will use Ltpo OLED technology, which always enables a performance feature. Will standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 air get this facility.
A fresh camera design
Apple is reportedly making some noticeable changes in the camera layout. The iPhone 17 Air and 17 Pro models can introduce a new rectangular camera module instead of traditional class bumps. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a single rear camera, while the Pro models can adopt a long, oval -shaped camera island.
Upgrade a big camera
The iPhone 17 Pro Max features a large jump from the 48-megapixel telephoto camera, the current 12-megapixel sensor. Additionally, all models can get a new 24MP front camera with a six-element lens for better selfie and video calls. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a single 48-megapixel rear camera, which may be a major upgrade for a non-ex-iPhone.
Apple’s own modem chip in iPhone 17 Air
The iPhone 17 Air is asked to facilitate the in-house 5G modem chip of Apple, which replaces Qualcomm’s modem. Although it cannot support MMWave 5G, it is expected to offer speed up to 4GBPS. It is not clear whether the Apple iPhone will use C1 modem similar to 16E or a better version.
Wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3
All iPhone 17 models are expected to support Wi-Fi 7, which offers fast speed, low delay and better connectivity. Bluetooth 5.3 is also expected to increase wireless performance for goods such as airpods and smart home devices. Apple is allegedly working on a custom Wi-Fi chip to improve efficiency.
More durable, anti -reflective performance
Apple is said to be working on a difficult performance with a new anti -anti -reflector coating. This will not only make the screen more resistant to scratches and drops, but will also reduce the glow, improve visibility in bright conditions.
Fast and more efficient A19 chip
The iPhone 17 lineup will probably be powered by Apple’s new A19 chip, built on a better 3Nm process. The Pro model will get the A19 Pro Chip, which will provide better performance and efficiency. Expect fast app launch, better battery life, and better multitasking.
Easy Battery Replacement
Apple is allegedly making it easy to replace the battery in all iPhone 17 models. The company introduced a new adhesive technique with the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, and now, it is expected to expand it to the entire iPhone 17 lineup. This can simplify battery replacement, reduce the cost of repair and improve stability.
Any more sim tray?
Apple removed the physical SIM tray from iPhones in the US with iPhone 14, and now, it seems that more countries can follow. The iPhone 17 is likely to rely on the ESIM, being a wind, ultra-flour. However, whether this change will apply to markets like India, it remains to be seen.
