Bangladesh protests : સરકારી નોકરીઓ માટે ક્વોટા સિસ્ટમને લઈને વિદ્યાર્થી વિરોધીઓ અને સુરક્ષા અધિકારીઓ વચ્ચે હિંસક અથડામણમાં સમગ્ર બાંગ્લાદેશમાં અત્યાર સુધીમાં 39 લોકોના મોત થયા છે.

વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ સમગ્ર બાંગ્લાદેશમાં વાહનવ્યવહાર બંધ કરવાનો પ્રયાસ કર્યો ત્યારે રાજધાની ઢાકા સહિત દેશભરમાં લાકડીઓ અને ખડકોથી સજ્જ પોલીસ અને વિરોધીઓ વચ્ચે અથડામણ થઈ હતી.

પ્રદર્શનકારીઓના જૂથોને તોડવા માટે પોલીસે ટીયર ગેસ અને રબરની ગોળીઓ છોડતાં સેંકડો લોકો ઘાયલ થયા હતા, જેમણે વાહનો, પોલીસ ચોકીઓ અને અન્ય સંસ્થાઓને આગ ચાંપી હતી.

ગુરુવારે થયેલા હિંસક વિરોધને પગલે શુક્રવારે બાંગ્લાદેશના ઢાકામાં વૃક્ષો નિર્જન દેખાતા હતા. બાંગ્લાદેશની ટીવી ન્યૂઝ ચેનલો શુક્રવારે પ્રસારિત થતી નથી, સમાચાર એજન્સી રોઇટર્સે અહેવાલ આપ્યો છે.

2. શુક્રવારે બાંગ્લાદેશમાં સંચાર સેવાઓ વ્યાપકપણે વિક્ષેપિત થઈ હતી, સત્તાવાળાઓએ અશાંતિને કાબૂમાં લેવા માટે ગુરુવારે કેટલીક મોબાઇલ સેવાઓમાં કાપ મૂક્યો હતો પરંતુ વિક્ષેપ સમગ્ર દેશમાં ફેલાયો હતો. આઉટેજ મોનિટર NetBlocks અનુસાર, બાંગ્લાદેશ “નજીક-કુલ” ઈન્ટરનેટ શટડાઉનમાં ડૂબી ગયું હતું કારણ કે રાત પડી હતી. વિદેશમાંથી આવતા ટેલિફોન કોલ્સ મોટાભાગે કનેક્ટ થતા ન હતા અને ઈન્ટરનેટ દ્વારા કોલ્સ પૂર્ણ થઈ શકતા ન હતા.

3. ગુરુવારે, વડા પ્રધાન, શેખ હસીના, અથડામણને શાંત કરવા માટે નેટવર્ક પર દેખાયા તેના એક દિવસ પછી, વિદ્યાર્થી વિરોધીઓએ રાજ્ય પ્રસારણકર્તાની ઇમારતને આગ લગાવી દીધી. અનેક પોલીસ ચોકીઓ, વાહનો અને અન્ય સંસ્થાઓને પણ આગ ચાંપવામાં આવી હતી. વિદ્યાર્થીઓ દ્વારા અવામી લીગના અનેક અધિકારીઓ પર પણ હુમલો કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.

4. વિરોધીઓ માંગ કરી રહ્યા છે કે શેખ હસીના સરકાર પાકિસ્તાનથી 1971ની આઝાદીની લડાઈમાં લડેલા લોકોના પરિવારો માટે 30 ટકા સરકારી નોકરીઓ અલગ રાખવાનું બંધ કરે. આ વર્ષની શરૂઆતમાં વડા પ્રધાન હસીનાને ફરીથી ચૂંટવામાં આવ્યા ત્યારથી ઉચ્ચ બેરોજગારીને કારણે થયેલું આંદોલન સૌથી મોટું છે.

9. શાસક અવામી લીગે આક્ષેપ કર્યો હતો કે જમાત-એ-ઈસ્લામી બાંગ્લાદેશની વિદ્યાર્થી પાંખ છાત્ર શિબીર અને અન્ય સંગઠન, છાત્ર દળ દ્વારા તેમાં ઘૂસણખોરી કર્યા બાદ વિરોધ હિંસક બન્યો હતો. લીગે એક નિવેદનમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે કાયદો અને વ્યવસ્થા જાળવવા માટે સુરક્ષા દળોને તૈનાત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા.

ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના ગોંડા રેલવે સ્ટેશન પાસે ચંદીગઢ-Dibrugarh Expressના છ ડબ્બા પાટા પરથી ઉતરી ગયા હતા. નવીનતમ ઇનપુટ મુજબ, ચાર લોકો માર્યા ગયા હોવાના અહેવાલ છે.

ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના ગોંડા રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન નજીક ગુરુવારે ચંદીગઢ-Dibrugarh Express ના આઠ ડબ્બા પાટા પરથી ઉતરી જતાં ઓછામાં ઓછા ચાર લોકોના મોત થયા હતા અને 20 અન્ય ઘાયલ થયા હતા.

બુધવારે રાત્રે 11.35 વાગ્યે ચંદીગઢ સ્ટેશનથી ઉપડેલી ટ્રેન આસામના Dibrugarh Express જવા રવાના થઈ હતી. ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના ગોંડા જિલ્લામાં મોતીગંજ-ઝિલાહી રેલ્વે સ્ટેશનો વચ્ચે પાટા પરથી ઉતરી જવાની ઘટના બની હતી.

રેલ્વે વિભાગના ઉચ્ચ અધિકારીઓ સ્થળ પર હાજર છે. ઓછામાં ઓછી 15 એમ્બ્યુલન્સ અને મેડિકલ ટીમના 40 સભ્યો સ્થળ પર છે. સ્ટેટ ડિઝાસ્ટર રિસ્પોન્સ ફોર્સની ટીમ પણ ઘટનાસ્થળે પહોંચી હતી અને બચાવ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરી હતી.

સૂત્રોના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર ટ્રેનના બંને લોકો પાયલટ સુરક્ષિત છે.

ગોંડાના જિલ્લા મેજિસ્ટ્રેટ નેહા શર્માએ અકસ્માત સ્થળે પહોંચીને જણાવ્યું હતું કે, “આઠ કોચ પાટા પરથી ઉતરી ગયા છે અને અત્યાર સુધીમાં ચાર જાનહાનિ નોંધાયા છે, અન્ય તમામને બચાવી લેવામાં આવ્યા છે. તમામ ઉપલબ્ધ એમ્બ્યુલન્સ અહીં પહોંચી ગઈ છે અને સ્થાનિક લોકોએ બચાવ કામગીરીમાં અમને ટેકો આપ્યો છે.”

ઉત્તર પ્રદેશના મુખ્યમંત્રી યોગી આદિત્યનાથે અધિકારીઓને તાત્કાલિક ઘટનાસ્થળે પહોંચવા અને રાહત કાર્યને ઝડપી બનાવવાનો નિર્દેશ આપ્યો છે.

“ગોંડા જિલ્લામાં ટ્રેન દુર્ઘટના અત્યંત દુર્ભાગ્યપૂર્ણ છે. જિલ્લા વહીવટીતંત્રના અધિકારીઓને યુદ્ધના ધોરણે રાહત અને બચાવ કામગીરી હાથ ધરવા અને ઘાયલોને ટોચની પ્રાથમિકતા પર હોસ્પિટલમાં લઈ જવા અને તેમને યોગ્ય સારવાર આપવાનો નિર્દેશ આપવામાં આવ્યો છે. હું ભગવાન શ્રીને પ્રાર્થના કરું છું. ઘાયલોના ઝડપથી સ્વસ્થ થવા માટે રામ, ”યોગી આદિત્યનાથે એક નિવેદનમાં જણાવ્યું હતું.

પાટા પરથી ઉતરી જવાને કારણે બે ટ્રેનો રદ કરવામાં આવી છે અને 11ને રૂટ પર ડાયવર્ટ કરવામાં આવી છે.

આજે સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટમાં NEET-UGની સુનાવણી પહેલા, સેન્ટ્રલ બ્યુરો ઑફ ઇન્વેસ્ટિગેશને પેપર લીક અને પ્રવેશ પરીક્ષામાં ગેરરીતિઓના સંબંધમાં AIIMS પટનાના ત્રણ ડૉક્ટરોની અટકાયત કરી છે.

પંકજ કુમાર પેપર લીક માફિયાનો એક ભાગ છે, અને તેણે કથિત રીતે રાજુની મદદથી NEET-UG પ્રશ્નપત્રોની ચોરી કરી હતી. પટનાની વિશેષ અદાલતે બુધવારે પંકજ કુમારને 14 દિવસની સીબીઆઈ કસ્ટડીમાં મોકલ્યો હતો, જ્યારે રાજુને 10 દિવસની કસ્ટડીમાં મોકલવામાં આવ્યો હતો, અધિકારીઓએ જણાવ્યું હતું.

સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટ આજે વિવાદોમાં ઘેરાયેલી મેડિકલ એન્ટ્રન્સ ટેસ્ટ સાથે જોડાયેલી અરજીઓની બેચ પર સુનાવણી કરશે. 11 જુલાઈના રોજ છેલ્લી સુનાવણી વખતે, સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે પરીક્ષા રદ કરવા, પુનઃપરીક્ષણ અને NEET-UG 2024ના આચરણમાં કથિત ગેરરીતિઓની તપાસ સહિતની અરજીઓની સુનાવણી આજ સુધી મુલતવી રાખી હતી. આ ત્યારથી કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. કેટલાક પક્ષો દ્વારા કેન્દ્ર અને NTAના જવાબો મળવાના બાકી હતા.

દરમિયાન, કેન્દ્ર અને NTA બંનેએ સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટમાં વધારાના એફિડેવિટ દાખલ કર્યા છે.

કેન્દ્રના એફિડેવિટમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે IIT-મદ્રાસ દ્વારા હાથ ધરવામાં આવેલા NEET-UG 2024ના પરિણામોના ડેટા એનાલિટિક્સ દર્શાવે છે કે ત્યાં ન તો “સામૂહિક ગેરરીતિ”નો સંકેત છે અને ન તો તેમાંથી લાભ મેળવતા ઉમેદવારોના સ્થાનિક સમૂહ અને અસામાન્ય રીતે ઊંચા માર્ક્સ મેળવ્યા છે.

એફિડેવિટમાં ઉમેર્યું હતું કે 2024-25 માટે અંડરગ્રેજ્યુએટ બેઠકો માટે કાઉન્સેલિંગ જુલાઈના ત્રીજા સપ્તાહથી ચાર રાઉન્ડમાં હાથ ધરવામાં આવશે.

NTA ની એફિડેવિટ, સમાન લાઇનો પર ફાઇલ કરવામાં આવી હતી, જણાવ્યું હતું કે તેણે રાષ્ટ્રીય, રાજ્ય અને શહેર સ્તરે માર્કસના વિતરણનું વિશ્લેષણ કર્યું હતું.

Director Prajeeth and writers Jude Anthony Joseph and Aravind Rajendran had a solid core that provides opportunity for multiple subplots. The film starts on a fun note, establishing the family dynamics in the Hariharan family. This offered great scope for comedy. Although there are some laugh-out-loud moments, the first half keeps you engaged with the drama and comedy.

The basic idea of overlapping dreams amid financial constraints is well presented. But the film takes its sweet time in taking the conflicts forward. This is where the film feels longer than it wants to. As a feel-good drama, it hits the right spot before becoming too dramatic as we approach the climax.

It is the performances of Jayaram and Kalidas that keep the proceedings interesting. His banter and his various interactions with the lady of the family, Asha (Asha Sharath), are lively and bring a smile on your face. Sharafuddin plays an extended cameo as an actor and gives an impressive performance.

Ashakal Aayiram Its premise was interesting, but it could have been even more given its unique idea. The film places more emphasis on melodrama rather than relying on specificity. With a predictable climax, the film ends up being a harmless family entertainer that falls short of greatness.

Singer Chinmayi Sripada was among those who publicly supported the actor after his posts highlighted the constant online criticism hurled at him.

Arjun’s note, shared on his mother’s birthday, touches on a deeply personal relationship. Reflecting on the difficult phase of his life, the actor wrote about enduring emotional trauma while taking strength from his mother’s teachings. “Life has been pretty cruel to me lately, but that’s okay. I’ve been beaten down before, I’ll be beaten down again, and I’ll still get back up,” he wrote. He further said that his mother had taught him to face life “with grace and dignity”.

Goldman Sachs, one of the world’s largest investment banks, is working with Anthropic to build AI agents, AI employees who can independently handle a lot of work within the company. Both organizations aim to develop AI agents that can help Goldman Sachs automate multiple roles. It’s worth noting that Anthropic is the same company behind Cloud AI, a tool that was recently cited as the trigger behind the selloff in SaaS stocks a few days ago.

A CNBC report citing Marco Argenti, Goldman’s chief information officer, said the bank has been working with Anthropic engineers for the past six months to co-develop autonomous AI agents, specifically tackling two specific areas: accounting for trades and transactions, as well as customer screening and onboarding.

Argenti reportedly said the company was “in the early stages” of developing agents based on Anthropic’s cloud model, with the hope that AI would reduce the time it takes for these essential tasks.

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon previously said his bank is launching a multi-year effort to reorganize its operations around generative AI, a technology that has drawn widespread attention since the debut of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in late 2022.

Even as investment banks like Goldman saw rising revenues from trading and advisory businesses, Solomon said the company planned to “pause growth in total headcount” as part of its overhaul.

The partnership between Goldman and Anthropic is yielding early results, with Argento saying the company was “surprised” by how effective the cloud proved to be beyond coding, particularly in areas like accounting and compliance, where it could process large amounts of data and documents while enforcing rules and decisions.

He said Goldman last year began testing an autonomous AI coding tool called “Devin,” which was now widely available to its engineers. However, the bank soon realized that Anthropic’s AI model could be deployed in other parts of the organization as well.

The bank expects to primarily use AI to make work faster and more efficient. Cutting jobs, because AI is not in the plan, not yet.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has repeatedly raised serious concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on white-collar roles, including jobs in the accounting profession.

On the issue of automation, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna recently warned about the potential risk to accounting-related jobs in an interview with Bloomberg. He said, “If I look at the jobs that are matching documents to make sure they’re the same, like what happens in accounts payable and accounts receivable, I can see half of them going.”
