The Devil Weds Prada 2 starring Mary Streep and Anne Hathaway is doing well at the Indian box office. After registering a good opening weekend of Rs. The film added Rs 15.55 crore. Earned Rs 1.50 crore on first Monday. This makes its 4 day fee Rs. Earning 17 crores at Indian box office.
The film saw a huge decline of 65 percent in its earnings from the opening day on Monday. Ideally, it should have registered better grip. However, such a decline could be a result of the election results in India, which kept the viewers engaged throughout the day. The film’s earnings are expected to increase today, Tuesday, due to the discount in ticket fares.
Based on current trends, The Devil Weds Prada will cross Rs 2. 20 crore figure till Wednesday. It will further cross Rs. 25 crore figure in the second weekend. If it manages to do well going forward, the film has the potential to surpass the lifetime of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, and then move towards Rs. Gross figure of 50 crores.
It will be interesting to see whether it surpasses the lifetime cume of Michael, who is still going strong in India.
