The culprit: Dhruv Sarja, Rachita Ram reunite for a true story from North Karnataka
Dhruv Sarja and Rachita Ram are reuniting once again for the Kannada film ‘Criminal’, which is inspired by the true events of Haveri in North Karnataka.
Dhruv Sarja and Rachita Ram will be seen together again in the upcoming Kannada film ‘Criminal’, which is based on a true incident in Haveri, North Karnataka. The film is directed by Raj Guru, who earlier gained recognition with the film ‘Kerebete’. Goldmines producer Manish Shah is backing the project, raising anticipation for the new collaboration among Kannada film fans.
According to information received from the filmmakers, ‘Criminal’ is inspired by a real love story that unfolded in rural Karnataka. Dhruv Sarja will be donning a new look for his role and will bring something new to the screen. The makers released a title reveal teaser with the voices of Rachita Ram and Dhruv Sarja on 19 November.
In the one-minute title teaser, the love budding in a toxic relationship between Rachita and Dhruv’s characters is established with a simple dialogue exchange. Dhruv in the teaser visuals looks awesome in the new rugged look, which looks more attractive than his appearance in Prem’s ‘KD: The Devil’.
The pairing of Dhruv Sarja and Rachita Ram has proven successful in the past. Their on-screen chemistry was appreciated in their previous project ‘Bharjaari’ and fans are eager to see them together again in ‘Criminal’. Rachita Ram is set to play the role of Parvati, and early reports suggest that her performance will be on par with Dhruv. The film is designed to highlight both the drama and emotion of the real-life events that inspired it.
Adding to the appeal of the film, the music for ‘Criminal’ will be provided by Chandan Shetty. The soundtrack is expected to reflect the regional tone of the story. Veteran actor Tara is also on board, playing the role of Dhruv Sarja’s mother, bringing another familiar face to the project.
Rachita Ram has earned a reputation for playing various roles expertly, especially after her performance in Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’. He has a long list of films releasing later this year and till 2026. She will be seen in Duniya Vijay’s ‘Landlord’, for which her character reveal poster was well received by the audience, and it is set to release in January 2026.
Dhruv Sarja will next be seen in director Prem’s pan-India project ‘KD: The Devil’. The gangster drama also stars Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind and Reshma Nanaiya in lead roles. Recently it was revealed that Kiccha Sudeep will also be seen in a cameo role in the film. The release date of this long-delayed film has not been announced yet, for which fans are eagerly waiting.
