‘The Boys’ prequel series ‘What Rising’ was announced at San Diego Comic Con 2024. The series will see Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively.
The announcement of ‘Vought Rising’ has created a lot of excitement. The news was also shared by Jensen on his Instagram, where the ‘Supernatural’ actor wrote, “Walking backstage at @comic_con with the boss. Ready to pick up the shield and get back to work. Season 5 and an all new Vought Rising!!! Game on! (sic).”
It was also shared on the official Instagram handle of ‘The Boys’. The caption read, “Introducing the next deranged entry in the world of The Boys: Vought Rising, starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. Set in the 1950s, following the early adventures of Soldier Boy and the discovery of a super known as Stormfront. The only advice for now is to keep your hands off that f****** shield.”
‘The Boys’ is a sardonic, satirical take on the superhero genre, highlighting the corrupt and often monstrous nature of these iconic characters. The series stars Antony Starr, Karl Urban and Chace Crawford.
Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in the third season of ‘The Boys.’ Soldier Boy is a great, old-school superhero who has incredible powers but a very troubled mindset.
His character is a contrast to modern, manufactured heroes and adds another layer of complexity to the already morally ambiguous world of ‘The Boys.’
