Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayakan postponed indefinitely pending Toxic release and OTT deal cancellation; report

Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay, was initially scheduled to release on January 9, 2026. However, due to the unavailability of CBFC certification, the film has been in limbo for release since then, and no final release date has been announced yet.

Now, it appears that the film may hit the big screens soon after Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups, as both the projects are being bankrolled by KVN Productions.

Thalapathy Vijay’s Jan Nayakan to release only after Yash’s Toxic?

According to a report from Valai Pechu, the creator of Jan Naygan Reportedly facing cancellation of its OTT deal due to delay in theatrical release. Apparently, the streaming partner has closed the deal, and other commercial agreements may follow.

Due to this uncertainty, the makers are likely to reevaluate their release plans, especially with two other films already in the queue. Keeping this in mind, the team may aim to release the Thalapathy Vijay starrer during his birthday week in June or push it to July 2026.

KVN Productions’ films like KD: The Devil are scheduled to release on April 30, 2026 and Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups Set to release in theaters on June 4, 2026, Jana Nayakan will likely release after Yash’s film. However, this is based on reports and there is no official confirmation yet.
