Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu’s ‘GOAT’ was re-censored after new scenes were added. The film, which has a U/A certificate, will hit the theatres on September 5.

Thalapathy Vijay’s film ‘GOAT’ has been issued a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu’s ‘GOAT’ or ‘The Greatest of All Time’ has been re-censored after the team added new scenes. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film will release in theatres on September 5 with a record number of scenes. The final runtime of ‘GOAT’ is now three hours and three minutes. Earlier, the runtime of ‘GOAT’ was two hours and 59 minutes. It has now been increased after adding new scenes.

The film was issued a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Reports say that some unwanted scenes have been added, which is common in director Venkat Prabhu’s films. The film contains abusive language and ‘Desa Thandai (Father of the Nation) has been muted.

According to the censor certificate, three seconds of footage has been deleted, while two seconds of footage has been replaced.

Vijay’s previous films, including ‘Master’ and ‘Bigil’, were in the three-hour range, while ‘GOAT’ has now surpassed that. It remains to be seen if theatres in Tamil Nadu will be able to accommodate the film with the current runtime.

Advance ticket booking for ‘Goat’ will start from August 30 in Tamil Nadu. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the morning shows of the film will start from 4 am in the neighboring states. ‘Goat’ is Vijay’s 68th film, so there is a lot of discussion about the pairing of Vijay and Venkat Prabhu.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, ‘GOAT’ is an action drama that revolves around Gandhi, a renowned member of the Special Anti-Terrorism Squad (SATS). He comes back for a mission with his former colleagues when a mistake in the past comes back to haunt them.

The big-budget action drama stars Vijay (in two roles), Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chowdary, Premgi Amaren, Yogi Babu and Yugendran. Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddharth Nuni and editing by Venkat Rajan.
