Superstar Rajinikanth greeted fans outside his residence in Chennai’s Poes Garden on Pongal, celebrated the festival with public greetings and answered questions about his next film project. The actor confirmed that the shooting of his new film with director Siby Chakraborty is set to begin in April this year, bringing the attention of fans waiting for an update on the collaboration.

Rajinikanth, who is known to meet supporters during major festivals, extended his wishes, saying, “I wish everyone a very Happy Pongal.” He also joined the crowd gathered outside his house.

While interacting with the media, Rajinikanth stressed the importance of agriculture and the role of farmers. He said, “Farmers are the backbone of this country. Only if they are happy then everyone else will be happy.”

On his upcoming film, Rajinikanth revealed, “The shooting is scheduled to begin in April this year. It will be a proper commercial entertainer.” The project will be produced by actor Kamal Haasan’s production house Raj Kamal Films International.

The project has seen changes in its creative team. Director Sundar C was initially attached before stepping down due to unexpected circumstances. In a public note, Sundar C said, “It is with a heavy heart that I share some important news with you. Due to unexpected and unavoidable circumstances, I have taken the difficult decision to step back from the prestigious project #Thalaivar173.”

After his departure, Sundar C thanked Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan for considering him for the project.

He also addressed supporters, apologizing to those disappointed by the news and promising to continue bringing entertainment.

The pre-production work of Siby Chakraborty’s untitled film is currently going on at a fast pace. Soon the makers will finalize the cast and crew of the film.
