Global electric vehicle giant Tesla has announced a unique opportunity for individuals willing to drive for more than seven hours per day, offering up to $48 (roughly Rs. 4,000) per hour for this role. Tesla CEO Elon Musk first introduced the concept of Optimus in 2021, envisioning it as a multifunctional robot capable of performing tasks ranging from factory work to caregiving. Over the past year, Tesla has ramped up its efforts, hiring several workers to assist in training Optimus via a motion-capture suit.

This job, called “data collection operator,” involves walking test routes wearing a motion-capture suit and virtual reality headset for more than seven hours a day. The role also involves collecting and analyzing data, report writing, and minor equipment-related tasks. Notably, there are specific physical requirements for this job, including a height between 5’7″ and 5’11”, the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and the ability to operate VR equipment for long periods of time.

In addition to a competitive salary, people who land this Tesla job will be able to enjoy a variety of benefits from day one, including comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, family building assistance and retirement benefits. The company also offers unique perks like the Tesla Babies program, weight loss and tobacco quitting programs and various insurance options.

The salary range for this position is $25.25 to $48 per hour, which is approximately Rs 2,120 to Rs 4,000 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and location. This role also includes potential cash and stock rewards, making it an attractive opportunity for those interested in working at the cutting edge of robotics and AI development.

The company has also revealed that the job involves different shifts. These shifts are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM or 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM. You can check out all the details on Tesla’s careers page. Before that, keep in mind that the location of this job is Palo Alto, California.
