Tere Naam re-release Day 1 box office collection: Salman Khan’s cult classic romantic drama opens with Rs 25 lakh

Ever since the trend of re-releases started in the post-pandemic times, there has been a huge demand from the audience for Salman Khan’s 2003 cult film Tere Naam. The tragic action love story directed by the late Satish Kaushik finally releases in theaters this weekend. Estimates suggest that the re-released film has taken an opening of Rs 20 crore. Earning 25 lakhs at Indian box office.

Considering the demand for the film, this is a very low start. However, one should note that Tere Naam hit the theaters in the month of Ramzan, which is considered a weak period from a commercial point of view as the Muslim segment does not watch films during Ramzan. Since Salman Khan has a huge Muslim fan following, the business was bound to be affected.

Additionally, Tere Naam has been re-released only in PVR Inox theaters in select cities, which is another big reason why the opening day figures seem to be low. If the film had got a better release period and better performance, it would have had a much better opening.

Nevertheless, the Salman Khan starrer may still show good growth over the weekend and then register a strong hold on the weekdays to stay for a long time in its second innings. One positive for Tere Naam is that it has no significant competition until its release in Eid 2026 – Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and Toxic.
