We are testing Tecno Camon 40 Premier 5G and want to share our battery life findings.
Tecno switched to SI/C Tech for Camon 40 premiere battery, but this Camon 30 Premier Battery Austry has a minimum increase of 100mAh – 5,000mAh to 5,100mAh.
The new model also has an upgraded chipset, which is 8350 on the Advanced N4P node more than the TSMC. In the 2024 premiere, there was a final final final on the N4 node and the old CPU core (A78/A55 vs. A715/A510 A715/A510) on the new model.
Other relevant changes include a slightly small display, 6.67 “vs. 6.77”, just as the resolutions are quite close to the same pixel density.
Battery life test
On paper, all hardware changes Tecno Camon 40 promises better battery life for 40 premiere, but its predecessors have defeated it. And not by a small difference, the 2024 premiere has an active use rating that is 2 hours more and each individual test has a high score. The video playback test is also not closed because there is a big screen with an old phone that has lasted 4 and a half hours more. Gaming is also a wonder, the Mali G615-MC6 G610-MC6 offers a lot of additional OOMph in the graphics department (we will see the performance in more detail in the review). Still the old phone lasted about 2 hours more.
Infinix Note 50 Pro+ Camon 40 Premier – Demitten 8350 and a slightly larger 5,200mAh battery and 6.78 “displays have very similar hardware for display.
Then Oppo Reno is 13 Pro, another Demidence is 8350 based phone. This is the advantage of a large 5,800mAh battery and even though it is to feed a large 6.83 “display (120Hz non-Ltpo OLED), Oppo showed an impressive endurance with great scores across the board.
Charging speed test
Tecno Camon 40 premiere ships with 70W fast charger in the box, which is rare to see these days and is a perk for anyone who has not yet bought a sharp PD charger. However, the premiere does not always charge on 70W – to get it, you have to choose the hyper option from the lock screen after plugging in the phone. Otherwise, it mistakes for smart and you can alternately choose a low-end mode.
While Tecno has not shared an official charge rating for default smart mode, the phone matched the Galaxy A56 (5,000mAh), at the top at 45W, but Camon was behind 40 Pro (5,200mAh), which also does 45W. It is on a 15 -minute mark anyway.
For 30 minutes, the premiere has pulled forward from the galaxy and is ahead of his supporters brother -in -law. He said, it fulfills the old Camon 30 premiere, which also came with a 70W charger (yes, its battery is 100mAh small, but it is only 2% difference in capacity).
Interestingly, Infinix Note 50 Pro+ (5,200mAh) and Poco X7 Pro (with a large 6,000mAh battery) proceeded with your high-lined chargers, 100W and 90W respectively. Infinix’s own battery was almost filled after 30 minutes.
However, Poco X7 Pro hit a speed after reaching 83% in 30 minutes, requiring another 14 minutes to get up to 100%. This allowed the Camon 40 premiere to catch and a full charge was only 3 minutes slow – yes, the battery at Tecno is 900mAh small, but keep in mind that we are seeing the results in smart mode, not hyper mode.
By switching on hyper mode, we do not see a big difference to start, but the additional speed of the mode is most noticeable on a 30 -minute mark when it is 75% vs. Default for Hyper Mode 70% for the default smart mode. This is not enough to hold the old premiere or phone with high charge rates, though. If you plan to complete the battery, you may not be disturbed by hyper mode – it only cuts in 2 minutes a total of time. This is more suitable for the times when the Camon 40 premiere battery is dead and you have only 20–30 minutes to charge.
Decision
Tecno Camon 40 premiere has average battery life and is well less than Camon 40 Pro, which is only 100mAh more in its tank. Worse, the old Camon 30 premiere defeated his successor despite being a small battery. Tecno did not really find the best use of the new SI/C battery technology.
When it comes to charging, the 70W charger is a good match for a 5,100mAh battery. We suspect that most people will use default smart mode and it is quite sharp – on the flip side, hyper mode is only slightly rapid and possibly rarely used if you also remember to togue it manually.
