Strong anchor investors’ participation
Next to the IPO launch, Tata Capital received Rs. 4,642 crore collected. India’s Life Insurance Corp (LIC) was the only largest investor who took over about Rs 700 crore worth of 2.15 crore shares.
Other major allocation went to ICICI Prudential Schemes, HDFC Mutual Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life, DSP, Axis, Kotak and Nippan Life AMC. In foreign institutions, Morgan Stanley, Goldum Sachs SSS, Nomura and Government Pension Fund Global (Norway Sovereign Property Fund) were clearly felt.

Price band has been fixed at Rs 310–326 per share, investors can bid for at least 46 shares (Rs 14,996 on upper end).

One of the most awaited NBFC lists in India
Tata Sons’ subsidiary, Tata Capital is the main financial services of the Tata group. It offers a full range of retail, SME and corporate loans, property management, investment banking and distribution of third-party financial products.
As of June 2025, Tata Capital’s total wealth was Rs 2.52 lakh crore and Rs 2.33 lakh crore, which makes it the third largest diverse NBFC in India after Bajaj Finance and Shriram Finance.
Its total NPA was 2.1%, the lowest in the industry. The company’s network spreads up to 1,516 branches in 27 states and union regions.
Evaluation
At the upper end of the price band, Tata Capital’s value is 1.5 times the fiscal year 2 book value and Times 33 times fiscal year 3 – which is marginalized by the average of the industry.
Analysts believe that prices leave a sufficient headroom for long -term investors. “Considering the market spirit, Tata Capital’s management has priced a little below the industry average, leaving the right headroom for a healthy listing POP,” said Mehta Equity Senior VP (Research) Prashant Tapas.
What should investors know
Revenue from fresh issues will increase the capital of Tier -1 to support future credit growth. On FY 23 – FY22, Tata Capital’s revenue increased by 56%, while the profitability of the tax increased by 10% to Rs. 3,655 crore.
Given its balance-sheet strength, varied credit support and Tata group baking, brokerage maintains a widely “subscribed” view on IPOs. The street will look closely whether this mega issue could mimic the success of Tata Technologies’ blockbuster debuts last year.

Stock is expected to list on BSE and NSE on October 13, while shares will be finalized on October 9.
