HBO has shared the first full trailer for its much awaited crime drama minisaries ‘task’, with Oscar-manual actor Mark Raflo. The series is ready for premiere on September 7, 2025 and will be released weekly on HBO and HBO Max.
The ‘task’ is set in the suburbs of the working class of Philadelphia, where Rafalo’s character, FBI agent Tom is assigned to lead a task force, examining a string of violent and strategically executed dacoits. A unique turn suggests that these crimes are performed by a light family man, Robbie, which is depicted by Tom Pelfre.
Trailer highlights
The newly released trailer sets a stressful tone from the beginning, with broken windows, shady interiors, and a voice-over images: “If things go very wrong, people want to know why God allows it to happen.” Between the dark and intensive scenes, the feelings of the story stand out. Tom fights with his struggles and unclear boundaries, while Robbie faces a heavy price for his choice. The promo ends with a stressful performance that exposes moral conflict at the center of the series.
The show’s producer and writer Brad Ingelsi is known for Amy-Vigner ‘Ghori of Easttown’, which features actor Kate Winslet. The ‘task’ promises an uniform attractive story. Director Jeremia Zagar and Salli Richardson-VITIFALD also also serve as executive manufacturers with Rafalo, Brad Ingellesi, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee, David Crocket and Ron Schmidt.
