Tamannaah Bhatia quashes Olympics rumours, says her curves aren’t going anywhere

Tamannaah Bhatia quashed rumors about using weight loss drugs and opened up about embracing her natural curves, saying, “My curves are not going anywhere because I am Sindhi.” The actor also reflected on his changing body and journey towards self-acceptance.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has finally responded to the ongoing discussion about her physical transformation. Amid social media being filled with speculations about celebrities using weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Monzaro, the ‘Baahubali’ star clarified that his transformation is natural. Tamannaah shared that her body has always been slim with wide hips and waist and she is now learning to embrace her natural curves.

“I’ve been in front of the camera since I was 15, and people have seen me grow up in front of the camera, so there’s nothing to hide. Till the age of 20, I was a skinny body type. It was always my body. This body I’m in now is technically not new to me. That’s how I grew up, and that’s how I’ve been,” she said in a conversation. Harper’s Bazaar,

Tamannaah said that while her current look may seem new to Hindi film industry audiences, her South Indian fans have seen her in different avatars. “It may be new to audiences in the Hindi heartland, but I’m close to 100 films, so people have seen my work in many different films and in many different bodies, but essentially on the toned down side. But people need to understand that a woman’s body is always changing, and every five years we see a different version of ourselves,” she explained.

Opening up about her struggles during the Covid-19 pandemic, Tamannaah said, “For me, Covid affected my body very badly, and it became difficult to keep my body at the same weight as it was in my 20s. I struggled with that. I love food, I love eating my rice, roti, dal.” She added, “While doing all those healthy things, I still had to face the camera, and I started to feel like I don’t want to be conscious of feeling a certain size, and I’m constantly trying to perfect it. I’m feeling like, ‘Oh, is my belly sticking out?’ Because at some point, my stomach was coming out, and I was wondering what was happening to my body.

Talking about body acceptance she said, “But the swelling is real. Any woman who is going through this cycle feels like her body is changing. I went through this in my early 30s, and my curves are not going anywhere. My curves are not going anywhere because I am Sindhi. The hips and the waist are not going anywhere because that is the bone structure. I don’t think you will ever see me following global beauty standards because of the aspiration of being Indian. Yes, people love our curves, and I think it’s time we embrace it.”

On the work front, Tamannaah was last seen in Prime Video Web series ‘Do you wanna partner’ With Diana Penty, Nakuul Mehta, Javed Jaffrey and Neeraj Kabi. She is also remembered for her iconic role of Avantika in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali: The Epic’.
