Suriya is reportedly set to join hands with Aavesham director Jeetu Madhavan for a police action film. The production of the film will begin in December 2025.
Suriya to start police action film with Jeetu Madhavan soon?
According to online reports, Suriya is expected to start shooting for Suriya47, tentatively titled Suriya47, on December 8, 2025. The filming is likely to begin in Kerala, with the team moving to other locations later. However, this is still speculation and official confirmation is awaited from the manufacturers.
As per early speculations, the upcoming film will be an action entertainer, in which the retro actor will play the avatar of a police officer after eight years. He last played the role of a cop in Singam 3 (2017).
Although further details about the film are still under wraps, it is rumored that Nazriya Nazim Fahadh will play the lead role. Interestingly, the actors were earlier expected to share the screen in Sudha Kongara’s Puranaanuru, which was eventually shelved.
Additionally, there are also rumors that Fahadh Faasil and Loca Chapter 1: Chandra fame Neslen may play important roles. Additionally, composer Sushin Shyam is also reported to be composing tracks for the film, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.
Surya’s work front
Suriya will next be seen in the action entertainer Karuppu. Directed by RJB (RJ Balaji), the upcoming film is expected to feature the actor as a lawyer named Saravanan, who fights against social injustice.
As evil forces threaten the local Karuppuswamy temple, the deity takes Saravanan under his wing to fight against the wrongdoers, and takes upon himself the responsibility of bringing justice to the oppressed.
With 24 actors, the film stars Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Naty Subramaniam, Swasika, Shashivada, Anagha Maiya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, Yogi Babu and many others in lead roles.
The musical tracks and background score of the film are composed by Sai Abhyankar. The makers previously released the first single “God Mode” and the second single is expected to be released soon.
Karuppu has not yet decided on a release date, although there are speculations that it could arrive by the end of January 2026.
Looking ahead, Suriya also has a film with director Venky Atluri, tentatively titled Suriya46. The upcoming venture stars Raveena Tandon and Mamita Baiju in the lead roles.
