Suriya will next be seen in the lead role in the fantasy action film Karuppu. The film, directed by RJ Balaji, is scheduled to release on May 14, 2026. Now, it appears that the actor’s next release, Vishwanath & Sons, may hit the theaters after just 71 days.
Surya’s Vishwanath & Sons to release exactly 71 days after Karuppu?
According to an online report, Vishwanath and Sons It is slated to release on July 24, 2026, coinciding with Suriya’s 51st birthday. With Karuppu releasing on the big screens on May 14, the second film will follow just 71 days later.
However, this is unconfirmed, as no official announcement has been made by the manufacturers. Reportedly, his brother Karthi’s Sardaar 2 is also expected to release in theaters by the end of June, in between the release window of Suriya’s two films.
For those unaware, Vishwanath & Sons is the story of 40-year-old former international pistol-shooting champion Sanjay Vishwanath, who is attempting a comeback despite poor eyesight. The story focuses on his complicated relationship with Maddie, a vivacious woman 20 years his junior, who falls in love with him, leading to emotional conflict.
Directed by Venky Atluri, the film stars Mamita Baiju in the co-lead role, along with Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in lead roles.

Surya will be seen next time Karuppu. The film is based on a world going through extremely difficult and chaotic times, where fear, injustice and suffering have become a part of everyday life. Amidst this turmoil, a mysterious figure emerges – a man who proves to be an unlikely superhero.

Together SuriyaThe film stars Trisha Krishnan in the co-lead role. It also stars Indrans, Naty Subramaniam, Swasika, Shivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu in lead roles. The film’s music and background score is composed by Sai Abhyankar. The audio launch is scheduled for April 26, 2026.
Looking ahead, the actor is currently shooting for his tentatively titled project Suriya 47, directed by Aavesham fame Jeethu Madhavan.
