Superman Box Office: Man of Steel lifts in India by 29CR weekends

0

Superman received Rs. 29 crore (USD 3.40 million) at the Indian box office during its first weekend. Weekend Batman V Superman (Rs 34 crore) and Aquaman (Rs 30 crore) are the third largest for a DC film. However, both those films included previews, in the context of the pure Friday-Saturday-Saturday-Sunday frame, Superman is actually at the top of the list.

Man of Steel …, not a film but also the man, the previous parents of the Galaxy Volume. 3 (Rs 28 crore), despite retreating slightly on the first day.

The film had a specific trend for a superhero film, where Friday’s number has come out due to fan-driven demand, resulting in an increase in relatively modest weekends. The film managed a 35 percent increase on Saturday, which was stronger than the ideal by style standards. Sunday saw a slight 5 percent decline, which is again normal for the Hollywood release with the Metro audience.

Similar to the tendency of its weekend, the film is expected to follow the specific trajectory. Batman Rs. 56 crores 26 crore weekend, gives it 2.15x multiple, while Gotg Vol. Managed 2.43x with Rs 3. 68 crores to 68 crores. 28 million weekends. Superman probably Rs. 60-70 crores.

The superhero style is a major draw for Indian audiences when it comes to Hollywood, however, this success is largely operated by Marvel. DC is historically lagged behind. In addition, director James Gun’s brand of film production echos more with the West than in India. Her parents’ films were one of the entries lower than the MCU in India than the West. More broadly, the superhero style has recently seen herself a recession, in the late 2010s and in the early 2020s after its peak.

Keeping all that in mind, the opening is a respectable for Superman. In fact, relative to its soft starts abroad outside the US, India is one of the better markets for this.

Note: All the mentioned numbers are except 3D fees. Superman earned the rupee, including 3D allegations. 32 crore (USD 3.75 million) in its first weekend in India.
