‘Stree 2’ entered the Rs 500 crore club on its 22nd day, taking its total collection to Rs 502.90 crore. The film became the second-fastest Rs 500 crore grosser in Hindi after Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawaan’, which achieved the same feat in 18 days. The film is now eyeing the lifetime India collection of ‘Gadar 2’. The Sunny Deol starrer grossed Rs 525.7 crore in its total run, and the horror-comedy should be able to surpass this number by the end of its fourth weekend at the box office.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ has done the unimaginable right from the day it hit the screens. It is the first Hindi film of the year to gross Rs 500 crore at the domestic ticket window. The film’s next big goal is to achieve the biggest feat and become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time in India. However, there is still time for that.

The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer grossed Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run in India. To top the list and overtake ‘Jawaan’, ‘Stree 2’ will first have to break the overall record of ‘Pathan’, which grossed Rs 543.09 crore, and ‘Animal’, which had earned Rs 553.87 crore by the end of its run at the domestic box office.
The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer has got a clear window to achieve all its targets in the coming days. The film is not facing any competition from any major Hindi releases in the near future. Given that the buzz around the film has still not died down, ‘Stree 2’ might overtake ‘Pathan’ in its fourth week.
