Stree 2 directed by Amar Kaushik continues its stellar run at the box office. The horror-comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor has crossed the Rs 525 crore mark in ticket sales and is now heading towards matching the last Hindi net collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film Jawaan.
Stree 2 adds Rs 3 crore on fourth Monday
Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar, Stree 2 has proved to be the biggest blockbuster of the last few years. Even 23 days after its release, the film is not slowing down.
After a record-breaking fourth weekend of Rs 23.50 crore, Stree 2 added another Rs 3 crore on its fourth Monday, which is very impressive. Stree 2’s total collection in the domestic markets has reached Rs 525 crore.
Will Stree 2 prove to be a hit in the industry?
Looking at the performance of Stree 2 at the box office, the film is assured to surpass Jawaan’s lifetime Hindi net collection and emerge as the new hit of the industry. The film needs Rs 30 crore more to surpass the Shah Rukh Khan starrer and become an all-time blockbuster. For those who don’t know, Jawaan’s Hindi net collection is Rs 555.50 crore.
Stree 2 continues to run for a long time, targets to earn Rs 800 crore
The Rajkummar-Shraddha starrer has three more weeks to break this historic record until the release of Devraa on September 27. The film is also expected to benefit from National Cinema Day, which is reportedly falling on September 20. It is quite possible that the horror-comedy dethrones Jawaan from the #1 spot on this special day and then reclaim the title of industry hit.
Maddock movie is doing very well overseas. It aims to gross over Rs 800 crore at the worldwide box office by the time it releases in theatres.
