The benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 48.66 points to 25101.0 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks like Global Tesil, Mahalakshmi Fabric Mill, Divgi TorqueTransfer, Infomedia Press and 3G Rock Multimedia touched their 52-week lows.
Overall, 30 stocks in the Nifty 50 index traded in the green, while 20 stocks traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Tech, Shriram Finance and Bajaj Auto were among the top gainers, while Coal India Ltd., Hindalco, Dr. Reddy’s, Power Grid and Grasim Ind. Trade in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading at 82006.89, up 221.33 points at 10:39 am (IST).
Traders were seen increasing positions in the Beverages – Alcoholic, Telecommunications, IT Enabled Services, NBFC and General sectors, while selling was seen in the Irrigation & Allied Services, Infrastructure, Rubber, Gas & Petroleum and Electric/Electronics sectors.
