The benchmark NSE Nifty closed 270.75 points higher at 24484.05 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks like Raymond Lifestyle L, Mitcon Const & Eng.(PP), MT Educare, Seagull India and GIR Natureview touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 40 stocks in the Nifty 50 index ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, BEL, Adani Ent., TCS, Infosys and Tech Mahindra were among the top gainers during the day, while SBI Life, Titan Company, HDFC Life, IndusInd Bank and HUL were in the red.
