Director Sam Raimi, best known for directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is reportedly in talks to return for the third installment of the Doctor Strange franchise. According to film critic Jeff Snyder, Marvel Studios has once again approached Raimi to take the reins, with the studio aiming for a 2027 release date.
This news comes after it was confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will be reprising his role as Dr. Stephen Strange, also known as the Sorcerer Supreme. Marvel is reportedly planning to place Doctor Strange 3 between two highly anticipated films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
