Legendary playback singer Sonu Nigam turned 51 on July 30 (today). Sonu is best known for songs like Abhi Mujhse Mein Kahin, Sooraj Hua Maddham, Main Agar Kahun, Yeh Dil Deewana and many more.
The singer celebrated the day with his industry colleagues including Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Akhtar, Salim Merchant and Anu Malik.
Salim Merchant met Sonu Nigam on the eve of his birthday
On July 30, music composer Salim Merchant shared a video on Instagram in which he visited Sonu Nigam’s house to wish him on his birthday. Sonu enjoyed his special day by cutting his birthday cake in the presence of his family.
In the clip, the singer can be seen kissing Salim on the cheek and giving him a warm hug.
He wrote, “Happy birthday @sonunigamofficial last night was so special! You are a unique person bhaiya.”

Sonu Nigam also launched his documentary Symphony of Fate on his birthday. He attended the screening along with his industry colleagues like singer Shankar Mahadevan, lyricist Javed Akhtar, singer Anu Malik and others.
In the clip on Instagram, the 51-year-old singer can be seen singing the song Shukran Allah from Qurbaan (2010) with composer Salim Merchant. We also see a glimpse of his documentary on the big screen.
Sonu wore a white shirt and blue jeans for his special day and had long wavy hair.

Born on 30 July 1973, Sonu Nigam started singing at the age of four. Sonu Nigam has sung for films like Muqabla, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Aur Pyar Ho Gaya, Keemat, Jeet and many more. His songs like You Are My Sonia and Tumse Milke Dil Ka are some of his best tracks.
Sonu’s Bewafa Sanam song Achcha Sila Diya gave him a big breakthrough in Bollywood. He recently sang for the film Maharaja starring Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan. Apart from singing, the singer has also acted in a few films, such as Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Kash Aap Humare Hote and Love in Nepal.
Sonu Nigam is married to Madhurima Mishra in 2002. The couple has a son, Nevan Nigam.
