Son of Sardar director Ashwini Dheer’s 18-year-old son Jalaj dies in car accident
Director Ashwini Dheer’s 18-year-old son Jalaj and a friend tragically died in a car accident on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway.
Film director Ashwiny Dheer, known for Son of Sardar, You Me Aur Hum and Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? , known for directing films like, lost his 18-year-old son Jalaj Dheer in a road accident on 23 November. Western Express Highway in Vile Parle, Mumbai.
Jalaj was on the drive with his three friends Sahil Mendha (18), Sarth Kaushik (18) and Jaden Jimmy (18). According to reports, Sahil, who was driving the car, was under the influence of alcohol. He lost control of the car coming at a speed of 120-150 km per hour near Sahara Star Hotel and the car collided with the divider.
“The car was traveling at a speed of 120 to 150 kmph when it went out of control,” police confirmed to The Times of India.
While Sahil and Jaden escaped with minor injuries, Sarth and Jalaj were seriously injured and were taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. Jalaj was cremated on 24 November.
Apart from her work in films, Ashwini Dheer has also directed popular TV shows like Hum Aapke Hain In Laws and Har Shaakh Pe Ullu Baitha Hai. His last film as a director was Guest in London in 2017.
