So much hate: Vani Kapoor reacts to boycott and censorship after Abir Gulal ban

Actor Wani Kapoor recently shared his views on the cancellation of culture and film ban, emphasized the importance of artistic freedom and addressed major concerns around the censorship in cinema.
Kapoor, recently in an interview PTIReflects on artists working within boundaries. He said, “I don’t know as an artist, as a filmmaker, or as an artist, how much you are ready to detect a new field because then you are controlled and a limit is set for you.”
The ‘Mandla Murders’ actor further said, “Then you have to work and something new, refreshed, exciting, and never seen within the frame of the line that has been prepared for you.”
“Cancel this whole culture, ‘One thing Galat has spoken’, Canco Car, Boyat Car (Say one thing wrong, and there are calls for cancellation and boycott). I did not get that unstable behavior. We are getting very rigid for each other. The actor urged people to be more kind and kind despite differences in opinion.
After a boycott call after the Pahgam attack on 22 April, Kapoor’s romantic drama ‘Abir Gulal’ was banned in both India and Pakistan.
The actor will be seen next time in Yash Raj Films “Mandla Murds”. The upcoming Netflix series also included Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Survey Chawla and Shriya Pilgaonkar in the lead roles.
‘Mandla Murder’ is scheduled to release on 25 July 2025.
