Snazzy Labs’ Quinn Nelson is one of the first people to receive the Trump Mobile T1 phone — and one of the funniest people to review it. The video below is quite long, but it explains in detail how to check the hardware and software of the phone.
That said, the video actually starts with a 2 minute explanation of how email spam works because the Trump mobile team had major difficulties sending emails that are not immediately flagged by Gmail. And if you’re wondering if you should get one, we’ll just tell you that the next 4 minutes of the video describe all the difficulties Quinn had in getting paid for the phone she pre-ordered. Apparently, you’ll need the $47 plan with Trump Mobile to order the phone.
Anyway, Snazzy Labs’ test of the phone confirms last week’s report — the Trump Mobile T1 phone is an HTC U24 Pro (a mid-ranger from 2024) with cosmetic modifications and one big makeover.

However, the thing is – the phone really isn’t that bad. It has a 6.8” 120Hz OLED display (1,080 x 2,346px) and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh and supports 30W charging – this is the biggest departure from the HTC phone, which has a smaller but faster 4,600mAh battery with 60W charging.
The T1/U24 has a notification LED on the front, a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top, and a microSD slot. And it’s configured with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is pretty good for a $500 phone in the era of the RAMpocalypse.
But if the first minutes of the video didn’t scare you off, note that the optical fingerprint reader was broken – this could definitely be a problem with that specific unit. But Google Messages also seemed to be quite patchy, so neither the software nor the hardware is in good shape.
