Shwetha Menon leads the first film body meeting as President, preference membership
The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) held elections after their first committee meeting in Kochi. President Shweva Menon emphasized member security and announced new committees.

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) recently held a meeting of their 32nd Executive Committee at the main office of the Association in Kalur, Kochi on 22 August. The meeting, which matches the recent elections, was led by newly elected President Shweva Menon. The attendees included both the general secretary Kukku Parameswaran and a member of the other executive committee, both individuals and online.
Shwetha Menon chaired the meeting and focused a fresh focus of the Association on Member Security and Welfare. He expressed optimism about the instructions of the committee and emphasized the importance of member welfare as a highest priority.
Addressing recent controversies, Shwewa announced the formation of a special committee to investigate the allegations related to the summons of some female members in a hotel. Reports suggest that these members were recorded while complaining.
Apart from the Special Committee, SHWETHA confirmed that various sub-committee would be formed to address the complaints brought by AMMA members. He promised, “I would personally listen to the complaint of every member,” he said to the media reiterating his commitment to address each issue.
Actor Santosh Kijhatur was a member of the only executive committee unable to attend the meeting. The actors who could not make it for the incident were present on video calls and marked their appearance.
Shwetha Menon is the first female president of Amma. First, actor Mohanlal led the committee. Following the explosive HeMA committee report, Mohanlal -led committee resigned from its posts.
