In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Shraddha Kapoor reflected on the struggles she faced while shooting her debut film, Teen Patti. Recalling those early days on the set, she said, “I remember on the second or third day, I felt sick and I told my mother that I don’t want to go back, and I don’t understand this world because I Never had an eddie.” She had done ads on the sets of a film and at that time she was only 20 or 21 years old.

Shraddha discussed the harsh reality she witnessed on the sets. He noticed that there was a huge difference in how people were treated depending on their status – people with recognized names received different treatment, while people without such recognition were often ignored or dismissed. He revealed, “People weren’t always very nice because if you were ‘someone’ you were suddenly talked to differently and if you were a nobody you were treated the same way.” This disparity was difficult for her to ignore, and seeing it firsthand frustrated her.

Reflecting on her growth, Shraddha spoke about how her confidence developed after completing her first film. The first experience felt very difficult, but by the time he started his second project, he had a strong sense of self-assurance. It was during this period that she came to understand the importance of empathy on set, realizing that people who were newcomers or felt a little lost deserved patience and kindness. This insight shaped his approach moving forward.

Shraddha played the role of Aparna Khanna, a college student, in Teen Patti, but the film struggled commercially. A turning point in her career came with Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri, in which she starred opposite Aditya Roy Kapur, which was her breakthrough role.
