Shiva of legends: Amish Tripathi becomes real about Lord Shiva in his latest show.

Writer and producer Amish Tripathi made a comeback with Amish as a host of legends, a new show on Discovery Channel, which discovers Lord Shiva beyond myths. Unveiled at the New Delhi Book Fair, it promises a deep dive into mythology with Maha Kumbh 2025.

Writer Amish Tripathi is all set to return as the host of ‘Legends of Shiva Vith Emish’. As India celebrated Maha Kumbh 2025, Discovery Channel, with its latest shows, Legends of Shiva with Amish, taking its audience on a compelling journey through mythology and history.

The show stars Amish Tripathi, a famous writer known for his work on ancient Indian stories. The series, which will explore Lord Shiva beyond myths and legends, will start streaming from March 3 on Discovery Channel.

At the New Delhi Book Fair on 9 February 2025, the trailer of Shiva’s legends was unveiled by Amish Tripathi and Sai Abishek, the head of the factual and lifestyle clusters, South Asia, Warner Brothers Discovery. In a special chat with India Today Digital, both Amish and Sai discussed their vision for the show and what mythology, especially Lord Shiva’s figure, is therefore attractive to today’s audience.

Amish Tripathi’s first attempt with hosting was ‘Legends with Ramayana’. The author revealed that initially he did not feel that he could do so. But, with the support of a wonderful team, he really enjoyed the experience. Sharing his experience of shooting legends, he said, “I’ve become more and more comfortable with it. While visiting the revered Shiva temples across the country, Amish Tripathi called it a dream job. The author also shared how he and his wife Shivani renewed their vows in Uttarakhand, where Shiva and Parvati were asked to be Mercury. “I have visited many of these places, both in the legends of Ramayana and the legends of Shiva, but not them all, you know, so I really get the privilege to visit those places, worshiping there.
