South Korean TV network tvN’s No Gain No Love recently enjoyed a boost in its viewership ratings during the ongoing Chuseok (a kind of Korean Thanksgiving holiday) holiday season. According to a report by Soompi, the Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae series ranked first across all cable channels.

Soompi reported that according to Nielsen Korean, the romantic comedy show had an average rating of 2.9 percent.

The series stars Shin Min-ah and Kim Young-dae in the lead roles and revolves around the concept of a fake marriage.

India Today Digital gave the show a 3.5 star rating. According to the report, “The marriage rate in South Korea has dropped by at least 40 per cent in the last ten years. The government is reportedly offering some benefits for those who are planning to get married, to encourage them. So, a new K-drama about the female lead getting into a fake marriage to grab company profits is not surprising. No Gain No Love uses the plot of a fake marriage to present a romantic comedy in capitalist times,” reads a part of its review.
