Shilpa Shetty hesitates to work in Malayalam films, says that he will not be able to do justice
Actor Shilpa Shetty shared that she had been presented some films in Malayalam, but never felt whether she could do justice to her role. He also shared his praise for actor Mohanlal.

Actor Shilpa Shetty opened her reluctance to play a role in the Malayalam film industry. He named Malayalam cinema as a scary place for him during a recent media interaction in Kochi for the teaser launch of his upcoming Kannada film, ‘KD – The Devil’. The actor admitted to sharing his views on working in various Indian cinema industries.
Shilpa said during the event, “I have worked in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada apart from Hindi cinema. I have been introduced some films in Malayalam, but I never told him, because I am scared.”
Despite her hesitation, Shetty expressed her praise for the way Malayalam cinema handles emotional narratives, which she finds both influential and challenging. He said, “I like Malayalam cinema very much, and I am amazed at the way this industry is handling the feelings.
The 50 -year -old then answered a question that which actors would be interested in working in the Malayalam industry. “Mohanlal. He is amazing. He looks one, and he is one of the most amazing actors in Indian cinema,” he commented.
She also shared her hobby for the 1984 Malayalam film Nokhekathurtu Kannam Nattu, directed by Faizil, which she considers as one of her favorite. The film, known for its emotional depth and fiction complexity, starred Padmini, Nadhiya Modeu and Mohanlal, and later remarried in other languages including the Hindi version ‘Payal’ in 1992.
The upcoming film ‘KD-The Devil’ is an action-pack Kannada drama directed by Prem. It includes actor Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, in which Sanjay Dutt, Rishma Nanyah, V. Ravichandran and Ramesh Arvind are included.
Music has been composed by Arjun Janya with cinematography by William David and editing by Sankath Pickle. The official release date for the film has not been announced yet.
