During the conversation, Soha recalled how her mother enjoyed attending PTA meetings in school. As the family recalled, Sara Ali Khan humorously interjected, “No Abba’s PTA meetings,” which elicited laughter among the group.

“Maureen Wadia and I were frequent visitors,” Sharmila said. The couple often attended school meetings because of their sons’ behaviour. Their memories highlight the camaraderie between the mothers and their shared experiences of managing their children’s antics at school.

Although he did not give specific details about the prank, Sharmila commented on the difference Between the conduct of Saif and Ness Wadia. He said, “Of course, Ness Wadia went a step further. He used to say, ‘I am the trustee’s son, you can’t do anything to me.’ And Saif was a little more bowed and more apologetic.”

When Sharmila was asked whether her husband Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi had attended these meetings, she clarified, “I went. Abba never went.” Sharmila said that she took primary responsibility for school affairs, while her husband was less involved in such programs.

In a previous discussion at a Mother’s Day event for YFLO, he reflected on his busy schedule during Saif’s early years. She said, “When I had Saif, I was very busy. I was working two shifts a day and for the first six years of his life, I was really absent. I did whatever I had to do. I went to parent teachers meetings, attended his plays but I don’t think I was a full-time mother. My husband was there, but I wasn’t. Then when I became a mother, I became an overzealous mother. I was feeding him, bathing him and everything. Wanted to do it. That was the other side of it.” Pendulum. I honestly made some mistakes,” she said. She highlighted the challenges she faced in balancing her career and motherhood.

Soha Ali Khan had earlier described her mother as the main breadwinner of the family and said that her father mostly stayed at home. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, famous for his cricket career, also handled family matters during Sharmila’s busy schedule. Family dynamics shaped Saif, Soha and Saba’s upbringing.
