She shared, “For me, seeing myself on the big screen for the first time was a big moment. I was really absorbing it and focusing on the fact that it had finally happened. I was sitting in the theater, watching myself on the big screen and everything that was happening was crazy.”
Describing her debut as a once in a lifetime experience, Shanaya said that she wants to retain that feeling. “I didn’t want to let that moment go because it’s a very special moment, especially for an actor making his debut. It’s like your journey has started, it’s like your baby.”
While she admitted that box-office numbers and audience attendance matter to her, Shanaya said that she consciously chose not to let the results affect her emotionally. She said, “I want the love of the audience, their acceptance. I want the theaters to be full. I don’t want empty seats in theaters for my films; that’s the dream.”
While it wasn’t a complete success with her debut, Shanaya revealed that she remained grounded by focusing on the bigger picture. “When that didn’t happen, especially because it was my first film, and the film took time to come out, I was still focused on that moment. I was very surprised,” she said, adding that the appreciation from the audience helped her keep going. “The people who watched the film – that love really inspired me a lot.”
At the time of the film’s release, Shanaya was already busy with her next project. “I was shooting you and me At that time, so I didn’t take it too much to heart. I wanted to focus on it and give it everything I had,” she said.
When asked if the experience has changed the way she approaches scripts and career decisions, Shanaya clarified that it has not.
