Sham Kaushal says grandson Vihaan looks like Vicky Kaushal: He looks like him
Veteran action director Sham Kaushal said his grandson Vihaan looks like his actor-son Vicky Kaushal and revealed how becoming a grandfather has changed his life. He also talked about Vicky’s childhood, his family and why he has no plans to retire.
Veteran action director Sham Kaushal said that his grandson Vihaan resembles his actor-son Vicky Kaushal. Speaking exclusively with India Today, the 70-year-old said that becoming a grandfather has changed his life and added, “I think he looks like Vicky.”
Sham, father of actors Vicky and Sunny Kaushal, spoke with gratitude about his relationship with Vihaan. Vicky and his wife, actor Katrina Kaif welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Vihaan, on November 7, 2025.

Talking about her grandson, Sham said, “He has changed my life. Whenever I am busy with work and can’t hug him physically. I do some video calls with him and talk to him. He is very nice. I thank God as much as I can.” When asked whether Vihaan looks like Vicky or Katrina, she said, “I think he looks like Vicky.”
He also rejected the idea that Uri The actor was mischievous in his childhood. “No, Vicky was not naughty. He was a very well-mannered child. He was good.”
Thinking about his family, Sham said he often feels grateful for his children and the family they have today. “There are a lot of parents in the world who are blessed with their children. I am one of them. I never imagined all this. I have two wonderful children, and my daughter-in-law is wonderful. I thank God.”
Sham also said that the thought of retirement is not on his mind, even though his sons have told him to slow down. “They keep telling me to stop working. But what will I do if I don’t work? I have been working since the age of nine. What will I do after having tea and breakfast?” He said laughing.
He said that work is now done not out of necessity but out of passion. “Earlier, I used to work with insecurities. I had to take care of my family and children. Now I am in a safe zone. I don’t have to worry about money. I am working with good people, and I am enjoying it more.”
Sham said he has been fortunate to collaborate with both of his sons and is proud of not only their success but also the people they have become. “I’m proud of my children. I want them to be good human beings. I keep telling them that your art will improve, but first of all, be a good human being. That’s important.”
Recalling Vicky’s early days, Sham shares a memory from the sets tongue. He said that he learned that Vicky had kept a stone in his shoe to maintain his limp during a scene. He said, “When I saw his expressions and what he was doing, I would have tears in my eyes. It wasn’t because I was working with my son. I swear, I thought I got a chance to work with a very good actor.”
Vihaan’s introduction to paparazzi
Earlier this year, Vicky and Katrina had introduced Vihaan to the paparazzi during an outing in Mumbai. The couple was seen at Mumbai airport on Monday morning. Photographers clicked Vicky’s pictures, while Katrina asked them not to take her pictures as she was carrying the child.
However, the couple allowed the paparazzi to meet Vihaan for the first time. A photographer present at the airport told that Katrina was with Vicky, but she asked not to be photographed with the child and introduced the child to the paparazzi.
