‘I’m a semi-orphan’, says Shah Rukh Khan as he draws parallels with Mufasa story
Shah Rukh Khan drew comparisons to Mufasa from The Lion King while reflecting on his life experiences and losing his parents at a young age. The film will be released on December 20.

Shah Rukh Khan, who has dubbed Mufasa in the Hindi version of Mufasa: The Lion King, drew similarities between him and the Disney film. The superstar said his life story is similar to that of Mufasa, who came to the jungle as an outsider and became the king of the jungle.
Shahrukh Khan in the new promo of Mufasa: The Lion Kingtalked about losing his parents at a very young age. He said, “If I wasn’t polite and said, ‘my story is also like this‘ (My story is also similar) so it can fit in it. Technically speaking, someone who does not have parents is an orphan. I lost my parents almost young, so I’m semi-orphaned. This is an outsider’s story. None of my family has been in the film production business. I came to Mumbai from Delhi, so I am also an outsider. This is the story of the king. So, yes, I am a king (laughs).
When you see his story of how he became Mufasa, the king. It is a very interesting story about sacrifice, friendship, loyalty. There were several parts when I was dubbing the film when I realized what a great character he (Mufasa) is.”
Here’s the promo:
