Actors Rahul Dev and Shahrukh Khan have similar educational backgrounds, both of them studied at St. Columba’s School in New Delhi, where Shahrukh was Rahul’s senior. In a recent interview, Rahul recalled his school days and highlighted the extraordinary talent of the Don 2 actor, noting that he was “totally cool and a decent kid in school.” He also said that he could have been a scientist because he was “not a spoiled child.”
Speaking to Mamarazzi, he said, “Our school was the first school in the country to introduce computers. There was a qualifying exam for that. Only 20 children were selected for this. Shahrukh Khan was one of the 20. He was a pioneer in music and they were very serious shows.”
He further said that Shahrukh has always been associated with theater and has performed well academically. Rahul said that he had never seen Shahrukh coming second in any game.
He described him as not a boring idiot, but the true definition of “cool”. He emphasized that Shahrukh is not a spoiled child, but a cultured child.
In another interview with Connect FM Canada, Dev reminisced about being in the same cricket team with the Don 2 actor during their school days, where Shahrukh played as a wicketkeeper and Rahul was a fast bowler.
He recalled that Shahrukh had received the Sword of Honor Award that year. Rahul also mentioned that Shahrukh displayed remarkable talent in various sports including football, hockey and cricket during his time in school.
“I don’t find it surprising that Shahrukh Khan has become a superstar. There will be no Shahrukh Khan in the next 1000 years,” Rahul had said. The school friends starred together in the 2001 film Ashoka.
In a previous interview with The Lallantop, singer Palash Sen, who was also Shah Rukh Khan’s classmate, expressed confidence that Shah Rukh would achieve something big with a career in films. He described Shahrukh as an exceptionally intelligent person, noting the impressive academic results he achieved in school.
On the work front, Shahrukh will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s film King opposite Suhana Khan.
