Actor Shah Rukh Khan talked about quitting smoking at a fan event on his 59th birthday on Saturday, November 2. As his fans celebrated his decision, some even expressed their intention to quit smoking. However, Shahrukh said that he does not consider himself a role model in this regard, as he has smoked aggressively for 30 years.

Shahrukh emphasized that after smoking for 30 years, he does not feel it is right to advocate quitting smoking. He said, “The worst thing is that after smoking for 30 years, I am advising not to smoke. We always know that smoking is not good. If we can quit it – great. If we can’t leave it – too bad but having said that, Do whatever you feel like in your own time. (Do whatever you feel is appropriate at the time).”

At a meet-and-greet event with his fans, Shah Rukh announced to loud applause, “The good news is that I don’t smoke anymore, guys. I thought I wouldn’t feel so short of breath, but still feel.” Hun (I thought I wouldn’t have breathing problems after quitting smoking, but I still do). Inshallah, woh bhi theek ho jaayega (By the grace of God, he will also be fine).”

The actor often talked about his cigarette smoking habit. In a candid interview with India Today in 2011, he said, “I smoke about 100 cigarettes (a day). I forget to eat. I don’t drink water. I have about 30 cups of black coffee and I have a six-pack.”

During the event, Shah Rukh Khan inspired his fans to follow their dreams regardless of what background they come from.

He said, “I come from a lower middle class family. I received education because our parents wanted us to be educated. My education has been useful in my life. In our area, most of us are from nowhere You have to believe that it doesn’t matter where you start your journey, keep working hard, keep studying and keep chasing your dream; It will be beautiful, and I stand by that.”

Shahrukh Khan will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s film King. He has not yet announced the film officially.
