Shahrukh Khan talked about his retirement during a fun segment at the IIFA Awards 2024 in Abu Dhabi. The actor was the host of the evening along with Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal.

Shahrukh Khan made a grand comeback as the host of the prestigious IIFA Awards after more than a decade, making sure that it was an unforgettable night for his fans. During the program, co-host Karan Johar questioned him about his retirement plans, and Shah Rukh’s response once again showed why he is called the King of Bollywood.

Like the great Sachin Tendulkar, footballer Sunil Chhetri and great tennis player Roger Federer. They all know when to retire and now I think the time has come for you (Karan) to do the same.

Karan then poked fun at Shahrukh and said, “By that standard, Why don’t you retire? (Why don’t you retire?)

After this Shahrukh said, “I am a different kind of legend.” I am like MS Dhoni. IPL is played 10 times even after saying no. (Even after saying no, he plays 10 seasons of IPL).”

Vicky Kaushal then lauded Shah Rukh Khan’s legacy and said, “Retirement is for veterans, kings are forever.”

Shahrukh Khan capped off the evening by winning the Best Actor award youngBefore accepting the award from director Mani Ratnam, he respectfully touched his feet.

The IIFA festival began in Abu Dhabi on 27 September. The first day of the three-day event began with the IIFA Utsavam, an evening of felicitation. Talents of South Indian Cinema. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiranjeevi and Nani among others won big at the event.
