The insider said, “Although Shah Rukh liked the subject and has great respect for Rajinikanth, he politely conveyed his decision not to act in the film.” According to the source, after doing cameos in films like Brahmastra, Rocketry and Tiger 3, the Pathan actor has decided not to play a special role in any other film.
Lokesh understood the situation and respected Shahrukh’s views. Having said that, the king of romance has expressed his desire to make a standalone solo film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. For those unaware, Coolie was announced in September 2023 with the working title, Thalaivar 171, and the team is aiming for a big-screen release in 2025.
