“Whenever you are sad, hungry or angry… have a little cry while playing your favourite video game.” We are not saying this, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once tweeted. Shah Rukh is an avid gamer who loves playing video games. So much so that King Khan hates losing games. Recently, Zayed Khan, who worked with Shah Rukh in Farah Khan’s 2004 directorial debut Main Hoon Na, said about King Khan that he is “totally obsessed with games”. Zayed also revealed that the superstar would ‘not like’ losing a game while playing with him.
During a new conversation with Rohit Roy for RightBite Max Protein TV, Zayed Khan recalled his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Main Hoon Na. Zayed loved playing video games with Shah Rukh and how the superstar would continue the match until he won.
“We used to play a lot of video games together. He is a total game freak. He hated the fact that I beat him at FIFA 2000. At night, after pack up, we would play all the time. He would force me to play until he won,” Zayed recalled.
Zayed Khan has heaped praise on his Main Hoon Na co-star Shah Rukh Khan, saying that the superstar was well-prepared while working on the sets. Calling Shah Rukh an “ocean of insight”, the actor highlighted that King Khan never put pressure on him to perform as well as he was.
Zayed further revealed how he was initially unable to do a scene in which his character talks to his father while looking up at the sky. The Main Hoon Na actor revealed how he “messed up” the monologue in the presence of Shah Rukh, Kirron Kher, director Farah Khan and the team.
The 44-year-old veteran actor experienced the energy on set going off when he messed up the sequence and further explained how he felt people on set start losing hope in such situations. Zayed recalled how Shah Rukh made him feel comfortable enough to do the scene. Shah Rukh rehearsed with him in a room and advised him to do it his way without being filmy. Zayed finally did the scene and after a moment of silence, everyone on set clapped.
Shah Rukh is truly a king who keeps winning our hearts.
