Next to the UK Premier of Come Fall in Love, DDLJ music, based on the prestigious Bollywood blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), Shah Rukh Khan made an unexpected journey for the production rehearsal room in London. The Musical, a platform, which is a platform of the 1995 romantic film, in which Khan depicted Raj in front of Rajol’s Simran, is about to make her debut in Manchester Opera House from 29 May to 21 June 2025.
Pyaar Mein Pyaar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Musical reveals both the UK and India and starred by Aditya Chopra, who also directed the original iconic Bollywood film.
Music is based on DDLJ, the longest-run film in Indian cinematic history, which has been screening non-stop in Mumbai since its debut in 1995. This year is the 30th anniversary of the beloved classic.
Jena Pandya, who played Simran’s role, expressed, “It was an honor to meet Shah Rukh Khan and was included in the rehearsal room. He was incredibly generous with his time and support for the show.”
He continued, “Being able to show some iconic scenes that he and Kajol had originally brought to life, it was an unforgettable experience and will last long. I am very excited to go to Manchester next week and will bring this story on stage!”
Ashley Dey, who plays the ROG, shared, “When Shah Rukh arrived in our rehearsal room and met the whole company, it was a moment that quietly resonated with all of us, it was a kind of special that words did not require words. Everyone could take him in, I could feel how important it was.”
He continued, “He congratulated us with a lot of warmth and real excitement that what we are making. I cannot imagine how to feel a project, loved by millions of people, being loved after 30 years, being rebuilt as a music. Still, he was asking to see more! Personal conversations that we shared that we shared, he was very happy between Raj and everyday, he was very happy, but I was very happy, but I was very happy.
Vishal Dadlani shared that Shah Rukh Khan’s journey in his workshop was an incredibly positive experience for the entire team. He compared it to “Raj Meeting Rogue”, described it as a wonderful moment.
He said that Shah Rukh appreciated the energy of songs, voice and performance. After seeing the rehearsal, Shah Rukh took time to join all the people involved and even reminded of his early music-theater experiences.
Gir in love-DDLJ music will start its UK at Manchester Opera House on Thursday, 29 May, 2025, and will run until Saturday, June 21, 2025. The platform conversion of the iconic romantic-comedy Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will showcase a fusion for cultures.
