Actor, comedian, singer and popular YouTuber Bhuvan Bam was one of the guests at the India Today Mind Rocks 2024 Summit in Bengaluru. Bhuvan, who was promoting his upcoming series Taaza Khabar 2, recalled his initial interaction with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The two met on the sets of Bhuvan’s popular show Titu Talks. Apart from this, Bhuvan also discussed his career plans, his production house and the need for creators to make a place for themselves.

When asked about his meeting with Shah Rukh, Bhuvan Bam enthusiastically responded with a question, “What can I say about the King?” He then added, “I met him for the first time on the sets of Titu Talks. He even gave me a head massage! Shortly after, I won the Filmfare Award for my short film Plus Minus and I remember Shah Rukh sir calling me ‘one of the great talents of this country’. Bhuvan Bam is currently promoting his latest series, Taaza Khabar 2. Backed by his production house, BB Ki Vines Production, the series also stars Javed Jaffrey in a pivotal role. During the same session, Bhuvan was asked if he would consider working for other production houses. He replied, “It is my dream to see myself on the big screen. I want to make films, and I want to be in them. It is not necessary for me to produce those films myself. I also dream of collaborating with renowned directors in the industry and being a part of an ensemble cast.”

Explaining the reason behind founding BB Ki Vines, Bhuvan said, “The reason for starting my own production was that no one else should fool me. I want to learn by fooling myself. That is why I opened a production house. And in the beginning, it is fun to be fooled. People tell a hundred kinds of lies, wear caps, there are a hundred kinds of scams, they swindle money from here and there.“I created my own production house so that no one can fool me. I wanted to learn by making my own mistakes. That’s why I started that production house. And initially, making mistakes is quite fun. People lie, cheat and steal. It’s a learning experience.”

Emphasizing his commitment to learn from mistakes, Bhuvan explained that his primary goal was not to build a huge production house but to provide opportunities to talented creators who lack resources.

He said, “We only work with people of our age. We don’t choose collaborators based on the idea of ​​’need to work with a particular actor’. It’s not that I only want to work for BB Ki Vines Productions. BB Ki Vines Productions is a platform that is open to creators with strong scripts. We want to collaborate with them to make their project a success.”
