Singer Selena Gomez recently revealed that she is ‘unable to have children of her own’. In an interview, Selena explained how her medical conditions have prevented her from getting pregnant. She also shared her experience of being saddened by the news and the time it took to understand it.

while talking Vanity FairThe 32-year-old singer opened up about her plans for motherhood. “I never said this, but unfortunately I can’t carry my own children. I have several medical conditions that could put my life and the baby’s life at risk. This was something I had to suffer for a while,” she said.

She further added, “I thought it would be the same as it happens to everyone. (But) I am in a much better position in this regard. I consider it a blessing that there are wonderful people who are willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are huge possibilities for me.”

Expressing her gratitude for “people who are yearning to be moms”, Selena added, “It’s made me really grateful for other outlets for people who are yearning to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited about what this journey will be like, but it’ll be a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Selena Gomez, a recent addition to the billionaires list, was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and subsequently had to undergo a kidney transplant. Gomez also publicly revealed her diagnosis of bipolar disorder, a topic she openly discussed in her Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me.

The Calm Down singer is currently dating record producer Benny Blanco. The two have been seeing each other since July 2023.
