Music tycoon scene “Didi” Combes will be sentenced on October 3, a federal judge on Tuesday ruled after a discussion between defense, prosecution and US probation office.

The decision was taken during a brief virtual hearing in which Combes spoke to his lawyer Mark Agnifilo, appearing through the video from the jail.

Defense lawyers sentenced on 22 September. Although the two sides initially supported the date, the US Probation Office confirmed its priority for the original 3 October schedule approved by Judge Arun Subramanian.

According to AP, Combes are still being held at a federal center in Brooklyn, where he has been since the arrest of September. His bail request was recently indicated by Judge Subramanian, citing video footage and photographs, a pattern of misuse of previous partners. The judge said that the comprehensive history of violence of Combes would be highly considered during the punishment.

Comombs’ lawyers are advocating a mild sentence of 21 to 27 months under federal guidelines. However, the prosecutors argue that their criminal record and violent behavior justifies the tenure of four to five years.

As part of the standard process, Combes will have to undergo a pre-saint interview with probation authorities. His report will guide Judge Subramanian in determining the final punishment. Federal punishment guidelines are advisors, not mandatory.
