Saroja Devi Damis: Rajinikanth Painns focused on passing the veteran star, she is called ‘The Great Actress’

Veteran star Saroja Devi died on July 14, 2025 at the age of 87. After some time battled with a scorching issues, the acting legend left the world, leaving his everlasting legacy. As soon as the industry mourned its loss, Rajinikanth gave a note of condolences to his social media handle.

Taking her social media handle, Rajinikanth said, “The great actress Saroja Devi, who won the hearts of millions of fans, is no longer with us. His soul can rest in peace. #Sarojadevi.” (Translated from Tamil).

Sarojvi started his career in Kannada cinema at the age of 17, which became a domestic name with his supporting role in Mahakavi Kalidas. After an increase in popularity, the actress started with a dance number in Tamil cinema’s Thangmalai Ragsiyam in Tamil cinema.

In the 1950s, Saroj Devi became one of the few actresses who appeared in leading roles in languages such as Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. After playing the lead role with MGR in Nadodi Mannan, the pair gave 26 back-to-back hits, which included Thirudate, Pasam, Nan Annayal and many more.

Her popularity was so immense that the women of the time copied and tried to copy her hairstyle and dressing spirit.

Rajinikanth is set to appear in the lead role for the coolie, the next time Rajinikanth is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraja. The film released on August 14, 2025 is called an action entertainer with Nagarjuna Akini and Upendra Rao in supporting roles.

The film has been postponed to include the superstar in a negative-shared role, in which Aamir Khan is ready to play a large-scale cameo. Apart from him, Coolie includes more in Saubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Satyaraj, Pooja Hegde (Dance Number), and more in lead roles.

The manufacturers of the coulie recently unveiled Saubin and the second single title Monica featuring Pooja.

Moving forward, Rajinikanth is currently involved in the shooting of Jailor 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. In the sequel to the 2023 jailer, the actor will once again see the “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, in which Nandamuri Balakrishna expected to play an extended cameo.
